Commemorative Benches Installed in the Town Park
The Historical Society recently installed benches in the town park to recognize the contributions of two deeply missed Port Wing citizens.
Dwight Johnson was a valued town historian. He maintained our museum’s facilities, and those of the town as chairman or “Mayor” of Port Wing for 34 years.
Soney Rockenbach was instrumental in organizing the Port Wing Centennial celebration, which help initiate the start of this Historical Society.
Many thanks to Carl C. and the others who made this installation happen.
